Has it really been that long? - part 2 (14/0701!!)
Once again, it's been a while since I put anything new here - not much to report really, apart from a new job, degree, car, and a house between us.
Following a fantastic outing at the varsity a the start of June, we are looking at organising a similar bash at the end of august, currently idea is for three bands on the night - The Percys, Whitmore, and ourselves. We'll try and put a message about when it'll be on here actually before the event, this time.

Has it really been that long? (10/03/01):
I really must apologise for not putting anything new up here for a while - the last few weeks has been a little busy. We've had to put a lot of stuff on the back burner for a month or so, while other some stuff gets sorted out, but we are looking forward to a summer of great music...
Recent gigs have introduced us to two other great bands from the West Midlands Taxi Karma and The Percys, both of whom are worth a decent look... we're all appearing at the Rock on various nights throughout March,, and with a bit of luck we will be orangising a showcase style thing featuring all three bands at the Varsity sometime in the next couple of months. For the record, blighty will be appearing at the Rock on the 14th and 23rd March - all we can manage for the time being.

More Gigs & Recording (13/02/01):
Once again we will be appearing at the Rock, Brierly Hill, on the 21st and 28th of February (both Wednesday nights), as well as some acoustic & all-star jam nights along the way.... More details on recording some *live* tracks, including (but not exclusively Sunshine Fever, and Killing Time will be available very, very soon.
Also, I've added a picture gallery to the web site (click on gallery on the left hand side of this page to check it out). At the moment the pics are pretty mediocre, so if you have any photos of us lying about, please email them to us, and we may include them on the site.

Random Ramblings (20/01/01):
We have secured a new address for this little site of ours... you can now visit www.blightynet.co.uk (although it will still bring you to the same place for the time being).
We've pretty much sorted out the line up, after only a month without Paul B. As of now Paul Smith will be playing second guitar full time... many thanks go to Neil 'How to end a song' Davies for leaping into the fray at the last possible second, and making a damn good job of it too!
UK Rocknet came to see our Boozestock appearance at the Marrs Bar at the end of December: find out what they thought by clicking on the following link: www.ukrocknet.com then going to 'Reviews', then 'Gigs'... It's in there somewhere, believe me.

Just a quick note (06/01/01):
Our next appearance at the rock has now been postponed until thursday the 18th of January, while we continue to rehearse with the new line up.

Guitarist Quits - "Never Fear, we're still here" (30/12/00):
Following a couple of months of things not being entirely happy in the blighty camp, guitarist Paul Bowers has quit the band so that he can spend more time with his girlfreind, and daughter. The rest of us will be continuing in much the same vein as we previously - we appeared at boozestock II on Thursday night with Neil "Brother of Dunk" Davies, and Paul "Singing" Smith as stand-in rhythm guitarists, and to be honest, no one seemed to notice the difference (people still clapped, anyways)... we'll just have to wait for some reviews to get an independent view of whether we can still cut it or not. In the long term it looks quite likely that Paul (Smith) will be taking over the second guitar mantle on a permenant basis.
Already looking to the future, we're currently writing some more new stuff, as well as reworking some older songs to fit in with the new line up, and hopefully we'll heading north to the bright lights of Liverpool, to record the new material and do some gigs around Easter time. In the meantime we will be playing at the Rock in Brierly Hill on the 10th January, with some more appearances at various places throughout January still to be confirmed... watch this space.
Also (It's been quite an eventful couple of weeks) the nice chaps at wHY DON'T YOU / Chocolax are gonna distribute our CD for us, at a ridiculously low cost - for less than 2 quid you will be able to have a copy of 7 blighty tracks on one CD delivered to your door... not bad, eh? Pay them a visit to find out more.

More Gig Stuff (30/11/00):
Following a successful appearance last thursday at the Rock, we will now be playing there again, next Thursday - 7th december.
Also coming up in december, we have confirmed that we will definitely be playing at Boozestock II (Marrs Bar, Worcester), on Thursday 28th December, along with Badger Tsar, The B Movie Heroes, and Skant. If you can't make it on Thursday, you should try and get there on friday 29th, when 35 Seconds, Liquid Television, Pigfish, and 4ft fingers will all be appearing - for only £2 to get in, it'd be rude not to!
|
Gig Cancelled & Stuff (28/10/00):
We will no longer be playing at Redwoods on the 31st, due to a problem with the venue... some of us will, however,
be live on ACE FM (107.2 FM - Kidderminster/Bewdley area) on Saturday evening (6th november), probably appearing sometime between 7 and 8, for some "live chat", plus an exclusive airing of new song Believe. We'll also be playing at the Rock, Brierly Hill on Nov 23rd (Thurs. Night) - it's free to get in, so you've not really any excuse for not turning up.
|
New Acoustic Tracks (15/10/00):
Ant, Smit and Tim are currently working on some acoustic material, which hopefully will include new tracks Believe, We've Been Dreaming, and Shine On, as well as new versions of Brighter Tiimes and Doing Better
|
Forthcoming gigs (11/10/00):
Tuesday 31st October - Redwoods, Kidderminster - Alive and rocking night
(this'll be our first gig in about 4 months, so expect rustiness)
Sometime at the end of december, we should hopefully be playing at Boozestock II, at the Marrs Bar, Worcester... watch this space.
